Hi friend! My name is Carmen Hoober and I am your Career Cheerleader. I am an advocate for anyone who is struggling to find a career path that aligns their skills, gifts, passion, and faith. I help people resolve career-related anxiety.
My path
I have occupied many roles (paid and unpaid) in my life thus far. I’ve been a waitress, a tutor, a janitor, an office manager, a substitute teacher, a mediator, a stay-at-home-mom, a child advocate, a human resources professional, and a writer. I rely on Jesus, coffee, books, carbohydrates, and quality conversations (pretty much in that order) to get me through the day. It’s been quite a journey but somewhere along the way, I’ve discovered that my path is helping others to find their path.
MBTI® Nerd Enthusiast
I’m a Myers-Briggs practitioner. I rediscovered the MBTI® at a time in my life when I was trying to re-enter the paid workforce after 9 years as a stay-at-home-mom. In addition to career and vocational discernment, understanding personality through the lens of Myers-Briggs has improved all of my relationships, my communication skills, and my spiritual life.
I begin each coaching relationship with a MBTI assessment. Personality assessments are a great jumping off point for any personal and professional development, and working one-on-one with a practitioner is the BEST way to verify and understand your results.
What can I do for you?
One-on-one coaching (in-person or online).
I work with high school and college-age students, Millennials, stay-at-home moms, and mid-career professionals who are interested in
- deciding on a major or educational path
- personal development
- professional development
- career transitions
- relaunching into the workforce after staying home with kids
MBTI® Workshops for Groups or Teams
- I will work with you to custom-design a training to fit the needs of your group, business, team, or department.
- I combine my knowledge of personality type with my experience in human resources, mediation, and conflict resolution.
Speaking
I inspire, educate, and encourage people to better understand how God has wired us, SO THAT we can live joyfully, serve faithfully, and connect our larger calling as followers of Christ to our daily 9-5.
